Jan 11 A sandwich round in north Cardiff. Temporarily working as the driver of a modified transit van selling a range of cold food, hot food and refreshments to offices and industrial estates on a daily basis.

Dec 09 Employed as a System Administrator, wide ranging duties included ‘high availability’ web, database and file server virtualisation projects, Database administration (Replication), LAMP programming, data backup, and expansion and administration of the local network over 3 UK based locations.

July09 Since being made redundant from St David’s Spa hotel I had been working for a number of

clients completing mini projects and IT administration tasks some of these include:

- Website administration , ie updating details phone numbers etc

Jan 05 – The St David’s Hotel & Spa (RoccoForte Hotels) - Redundancy due to hotel sale

Aug 07 IT Manager in a 5 Star Hotel managing and maintaining the local office administration and 'in room' IT services, Analogue, Digital & VoIP telephone networks, ePOS and AV systems as well as supporting other sites remotely as part of a VPN based IT team. A wide range of duties include administering Novel, Citrix, Windows and Linux server/clients, Media and Press relations for public events and VIP guests, and training of new and old staff. Over the past 2½ years, much of the local IT infrastructure had been replaced and upgraded in line with required technologies and available budgets in a continual series of projects managed by myself.

June 03 – GuerillaTelevision, Cardiff - This was a community project ended on Project completion.

June 04 Design Engineer. A community project working to create a network of innovative interactive “kiosk” computers in public areas around Cardiff. Involved in the design and construction of hardware, configuration of the software (Windows and Linux) and installation and administration of the wireless network. The project won the WDA Design and Innovation Award 2003.

Please refer to my education section, I completed a HND and further studied a BA Hons so I made the decision to take some time out to enhance my education due to the amount of study required to be successful.

Aug 01 – Nortech Control Systems, Cwmbran

Dec 02 Design Engineer. Responsibilities varied from writing technical manuals and ISO documentation, creating and maintaining the website, assisting in the design and creation of bespoke software, to various design solutions for electronics and mechanics hardware and test equipment. On occasion, would also work in the field, installing equipment, helping clients with problems and representing the company at trade shows.

March 01- Nordam Europe , Hengoed

June 01 Database Administrator. A three month placement to assist the companies IT Department in a mock-up of a database driven application to catalogue the production and stock processes and hold all work in progress.

March 01 Installation Engineer. Worked as an engineer installing a wide range of small to medium scale video and audio public address systems, as well as controlled stage lighting in public houses and clubs across Wales and England.

March 01 Promotions Champion. Barman and ‘promotional organiser’ in a busy city centre public house.

Oct 97 – LG Electronics, Newport

May 99 Laboratory Technician. Working in a factory producing Cathode ray tubes for computer monitors. I started with the company when it was a “green field” site, and after initial 3-month-training in South Korea, involved in purchasing and installing various test equipment, writing ISO work instructions and training of other employees.

1995 – Electrocoin Automatics, Cardiff

1997 Test Engineer. Duties included problem solving and design of linear power supply units and other electronic and mechanical components used in the design and prototyping of machines.

1993 - Budd Electrical, Cardiff

1995 Assistant Manager. General duties included purchasing and stock control, sales and accounts and general servicing of a wide range of audio and visual units, as well as white goods.

1990 – Deltec Precision Audio, Cardiff

1993 Production Supervisor. My responsibility was to co ordinate the team of 25 staff by allocating production tasks and materials to match weekly quotas. Specifically dealt with PCB CAD and SMD pick & place and solder reflow systems and represented the company at trade shows.
